libcheese7 software package provides tool to take pictures and videos from your webcam - base library, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libcheese7
libcheese7 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libcheese7 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libcheese7 *
You will get with libcheese7 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
